As part of our Aboriginal Women's and Children's Health Champions Yarn Up events, we are asking women to volunteer to become Health Champions.
Who are Health Champions?
Health Champions can be any Aboriginal women from the community. We would especially love to have Champions involved in sports, to reach a wide audience.
What do Health Champions do?
Health Champions are ambassadors in their community. They raise awareness of and vouch for the benefits of getting immunisations on time and women's health screenings.
What support do Health Champions receive?
The Project Lead will send you key health messages and information you can share with your community throughout the year. You'll also get a special designed polo shirt and mug as a talking point and to encourage people to come and have a cuppa with you.
How long does the Champions Program go for?
12 months.
